frustrated...

not to be a debbie downer or anything, but it's REALLY frustrating when things just DON'T work. searching and searching for a good job, finally getting an interview, really liking how the job sounds, the people that work there, great benefits, and then bam...they low ball the ever loving shit out of you.

last night was a doozy. i'm okay now because i have a plan. but still, it'd be nice to stop having this job hunt hanging over my head.

i'm just so frustrated and discouraged. i am good designer. there i said it. i am. and i deserve a good job. it's really discouraging when you see people that don't have the slightest clue about design and they have the job you deserve. they didn't work for it. it was handed to them. and they're not even designers.

i busted my ass for 4.5 years for this? no no no..this can't be right.

but in other news, jazz fest was EPIC.

band of horses.
pearl jam.
old crow with ED HELMS!
van morrison.
the dead weather.
bb king.

lauren saw maggie gylenhaal.
apparently she walked right by me and i didn't even notice.

but....the greatest moment:

jack white, in three simple words, changed my life.

"it's just water."

thank you jack. never again will i hate the rain.
i will embrace it and forever remember that last 30 seconds that the rain poured down on me while you played the shit outta that gretsch.

"will there be enough water?"
there was that day.

p.s. alison baby, i love you more than ever. you never cease to amaze me.

i know one thing. i ain't missin dead weather. that shit is a rare delicacy and the greatest thing i've ever laid my eyes and ears on. the other date i plan to attend will be determined when i've had time to collect myself. i'm torn between april 24 and may 1. unless someone wants to buy a third day for me.....

as promised...

hello all, i'm finally feeling better (with the exception of a daily headache that's really starting to wear thin on me) and i'm back with the pictures and videos i promised you earlier.
i went to a couple of shows at the beginning of the month. the first of which (dead weather) was uh-mazing and probably the greatest show i've ever been too...but i'm a little biased. sadly, i was informed that cameras weren't allowed. so naturally i didn't want to risk trying to sneak mine in and then get caught and have to turn around and walk 3 blocks back to the car to put it away when we were already in a rush...and of corse...when we got there...everybody and their momma had a camera. i was highly pissed. so i only have iphone pictures for you...and i managed to find someone on youtube who DID video parts of the show so i'll share those with you. if you ever get the chance to see the dead weather, i HIGHLY recommend you do so...i think i may have liked it better than KoL (dare i say it). so good. my girl crush on the lovely miss alison mosshart was only made worse....god i am in love with that woman. and we were in awe of jack white...starstruck actually, and that doesn't happen often. when he plays, the world stops. yes, stops. you should be jealous of us. it was spiritual.

B driving us to N.O.
the only picture i took with my camera the whole night :o(

i apologize for the poor quality of the pictures from the actual show...hey i think i did pretty good considering i only had my iphone.

the following wednesday, B and i picked up lauren and rimmer and headed to dallas for the KINGS show. when we arrived, we stopped at the first bar we found for a few ritas! once we got nice and tipsy we headed over to the venue and went our separate ways to find our seats...the boys were on the floor and lauren and i were in the first level, which we didn't mind because lets face it...we're short and there was no way we would've been able to see from down there. but fortunately i had my camera this time. and fortunately i took lots of videos. unfortunately, only two of them will upload to youtube. and unfortunately, lauren and i were sitting by drunk frat boys who insisted on singing (very badly) all the wrong words to every song...example. while kol were playing "i want you", instead of singing "baby this only bringing me down", the frat-tastic boys next to me were singing (and drowning out precious caleb) "someone like youuuuuuuuu". i suspect this is because "use somebody" was the only song they knew. they did however know the words to "knocked up"....so i guess i'll retract that statement. none the less...they made my experience a little less enjoyable. but regardless of those boys, KoL put on a FANTASTIC show.

*side note: after "use somebody" there was a mass exodus of people who made a b-line for the door. the kings were quick to publicly call out this group of unmentionables. good riddance i say...they missed a hell of an encore.

the crew.

p.s.

remember about a month ago when i attended one of B's shows in shreveport and i told you about the infamous MS. WILLIAMS and how youtube wouldn't upload MY video of her???...well guess what. it finally worked. ladies and gentlemen...i give you, ms. williams in all her glory and splendor.
